Reflections of the Creator
Many studies show the link between solid arts programs and strong academic performance. It's no surprise, as we were “fearfully and wonderfully made" in the image of our most creative Creator. At GC, our students, grades K-4 have special pull-out classes for art with an art teacher. Art is part of the standard curriculum through grade 8 and is then available as an elective through grade 12. Students try their hands at a variety of media and work toward specializing in the upper grades. Art History is also part of the curriculum.
GC students consistently show excellence, ranking high in TAPPS art competitions in several categories. (TAPPS - Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools). Some years, a Student Art Work Show displays student accomplishments and is open to the public. GC students have received national awards and scholarships for their talented work.
