A note from Mrs. Greiner, GC Test Coordinator:

Greenville Christian is getting ready for the PSAT this fall and once again is opening our school as a testing site for the Homeschool Comminty.  This year's primary, national test date is WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11th.  As customary, I will begin the test in our school's library at 8:00, and it will be over between 11:30 – 12:30 ish.  The variable in time is determined by how much time is needed to fill out the questionnaire on the students' answer documents: name, address, birthday, current grade level, etc.

The PSAT is a shortened version of the SAT college entrance exam.  The PSAT assessment measures critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills.  It also concentrates on knowledge and skills developed through years of study in a wide range of courses.  Further, the PSAT tests the student's ability to reason with facts and concepts rather than the ability to recall them.  There are 2 critical reading sections, 2 mathematics sections and 1 writing skills section. Further information can be found here as well as this website:

I can test 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders, but it is the 11th graders who compete for the National Merit Scholarship. Therefore, if you want your younger students (8th, 9th and 10th graders) to sit for the test, their scores will help you see their strengths as well as their weaknesses. And, it is also an excellent opportunity to "practice" timed standardized testing in a new environment with a proctor.

If you are interested in your student taking this test, the testing fee is $30.00 per student, payable in the school office or mailed to my attention no later than TUESDAY, AUGUST 1st. If you want to come by the school this summer to register, the school office is open Monday - Friday 9:00-3:00.  The office will be closed July 3rd- 7th

If you want to mail a check, please make it payable to Greenville Christian School with PSAT on the memo line. Please include your student’s name, grade level in October 2017, parental email address for contact, as well as phone and address. The school address is
