Physical Education

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1). The Physical Education Department has designed its curriculum around developing the physical talents and attributes that are God-given. God says that we are to bring our bodies under the control of the Holy Spirit. It is our intent to train the young bodies as well as the young minds placed under our care to live Godly lives.

Games and skills are taught with the emphasis on the rules of the game, Godly sportsmanship, and maximum effort. Competition is seen as a goal, but not as an end in itself. “Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else . . . “(Galatians 6:4). The students are encouraged to develop physically, and to learn cooperation, discipline, and self-control. No student is made to feel inadequate because of a lack of physical ability.
