Life Science

In seventh grade Life Science, the beauty and complexity of life is emphasized.  The human body, in particular, is seen as a glorious temple, which can bring pleasure and glory to its Creator.  Along with the Psalmist, students should say: “I will praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)

Earth Science

“For Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or

powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

This passage from Colossians 1:16-17 forms the foundation for the Earth Science curriculum.  God’s transcendence above and total control of creation permeates the topics of astronomy, meteorology, and geology.  He is not only Creator, but the “Universal Glue” holding the universe together.

Integrated Physics and Chemistry

All natural laws can be categorized as either laws of conservation or laws of degeneration. Since no laws are creative or constructive in nature, logic dictates that the origin of all things lies outside of nature itself.

The orderly and complex nature of matter shows the design of a wise creator. The immutable laws of creation reveal the power and wisdom of God, the Sustainer.  Since Christ created all things and by Him all things hold together, He deserves the preeminence over all things. (Colossians 1:15-18)

In this class, the laws of physics and chemistry, and their applications are studied and used to appreciate God’s design and maintenance of His creation

Biology I

In Biology, the origin of life, species, and man is emphasized.  A belief in the Creation and Fall of Man are necessary to understand accountability to God and the need for salvation (Romans 5:12-21)

The wonderful, complex design of living systems and organisms demands a Creator.  The marvels of the living world should draw forth a response of praise and worship from every believer.

Chemistry

The creation of matter and the laws that control it show forth the omnipotence of the Creator.  The complex and orderly nature of atoms points to the wisdom of an omniscient God.  The more we learn about the Creation, the greater the truth of Romans 1:20 appears – “The power and nature of the godhead can be clearly understood by those things which are made.

Physics (honors)

This is an elective honors course for eleventh and twelfth grade students. In no course is God's complexity more evident than in the study of the physical laws in operation by God Himself. Physics is a study of basic principles by which God orders the universe. Man lives in a God-created world governed by laws discovered by reverent scientific inquiry. Colossians 1: 16-17 verifies that God is not only Creator, but the "Universal Glue" holding the universe together: "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

In this college preparatory course, heavy emphasis is placed on problem solving, application of physics principles to everyday life, and hands-on investigating. Prerequisites: Chemistry, Trigonometry / Pre-Calculus

Dual-credit Biology

In Biology, the origin of life, species, and man is emphasized.  A belief in the Creation and Fall of Man are necessary to understand accountability to God and the need for salvation (Romans 5:12-21)
